Getting a new laptop...

my mom just bought a toshiba, i heard they are one of the top rated laptops somewhere

also, the money isnt a big problem because if the laptop i buy is less than the sony when i bought it, i dont get the cash difference to keep. i think i bought my laptop for around 1600 also

Good to hear you got somehting you wanted. Since they dont give money back use it up then...;-). Hope you dont have the issues that plagues your other laptop.

When indoubt reformat that machine with a fresh install of XP pro that isnt form the manufacturer. (gets rid of their pre-install of XP, they stick their bells and whistles on it)

thanks for the help man. you talked me out of getting a new vaio i dont want to go through what i did with the last one. i would always carry around a usb flash drive because i couldnt trust saving anything on it. hopefully this next one will last me longer!
